Huskies Fight All Night Against Fairmont

The Jackson County Central baseball team lost to Fairmont 13-4 at home on Tuesday. 

The Cardinals scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the fourth, and seven in the sixth to lead 13-0. The Huskies scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend the game to seven innings.

JCC head coach Mike Wierson says they keep chipping away at getting another win.

Jace Jorgenson collected three hits and batted in one run. 

Talan Holm, Kash Gilbert, and Carson Doescher singled and scored. Thomas Liepold walked and later scored. Holm had a pair of hits. Gilbert had one hit. 

Doescher struck out three Cardinals during the first five and one-third innings for the Huskies. Haiden Warmka came on in relief before Ryan Fricke completed the sixth. Gilbert pitched the seventh as well and tossed a pair of strikeouts.

 

The 1-5 Huskies will host Redwood Valley on Thursday and there will be a Huskies Fighting Cancer tailgate meal during that home game, weather permitting.
