Federated REA Announces Winners of the Youth Tour Contest

(Jackson) Federated Rural Electric of Jackson, announced the winners of its 2025 Youth Tour Contest. Anna Hedstrom of Lakefield won the grand prize—a free trip to Washington, D.C., from June 16-21, where she will join 1,500 students nationwide to tour landmarks, meet legislators, and learn about cooperatives.
Second and third place prizes of $300 and $200 went to Timothy Foster of Winnebago and Annie Reyelts of Fairmont. Three additional finalists, Isaac Stone, Hayden O’Connor, and Evan Reyelts, received cash awards of $100 and $50. Contestants submitted an application and an energy-related essay, with six finalists participating in interviews on March 17. Federated REA is a cooperative that provides electric service to 5300 members in Jackson and Martin Counties.
